The Daka Pin Clock
The Daka Designs Pin Clock is a high-tech time-telling device that works like those old pin art games. You know...the ones you used to play with in the Spencer Gifts store while you loitered at the mall on a Saturday afternoon. The Daka Pin Clock is a true analog digital clock, sort of like a modern day "flip clock", but with a twist. As the time changes, you hear a somewhat nostalgic little analog clicking sound as a select number of the 3,000 individual pins eject and retract to form the digital numbers.
The clicking noise it makes sounds like numbers changing on one of those old train station flip clocks. Daka Designs had an amusing slogan for this item, based on a timeless cliche, "You Can Hear A Pin Clock"! The Daka Pin Clock has a very futuristic space age ultra-modern appearance, with a sleek and smooth lozenge shape, a thick acrylic glass face, and a pewter silvertone plastic casing. The Daka Pin Clock has only two buttons; one sets the hour and the other sets the minutes. Deceptively simple, huh? The Daka Pin Clock was manufactured in 2006 and was quickly discontinued, making it a true "collectible of the future"! It is increasingly hard to find the Daka Pin Clock these days, and eBay Before its untimely demise, the Daka Pin Clock was voted the number one clock for geeks by PC Magazine! It was also voted 'Champion of the Open Group' at the 20th Hong Kong Watch & Clock Design competition. The silver casing measures 8.5 inches x 3.75 inches x 3.5 inches. The Daka Pin Clock is powered by two "D" batteries or by an optional 4.5 volt or universal AC adaptor (neither are included with the clock).
