The Akai CR-83D has stereo rca inputs and outputs, so it can be easily integrated into modern stereo systems and makes recording to 8-track a snap. Transfer your CDs, cassettes, albums, mp3s, or mix down your band's demo tape to 8-track! The Akai CR-83D measures 16 7/8 inches x 8 3/4 inches x 4 1/4 inches. This unit is fully tested, cleaned and inspected inside and out. Playback is beautiful, a classic bass-heavy 8-track sound with no track bleeding or noticeable wobble. Recording works perfectly, too. I connected a CD player to the rca inputs, made a couple of "mix tapes" for personal use, and the resulting recordings sounded very clean and clear, better than any of the old 8-tracks in my collection. Of course, you can't be driving down to your local Radio Shack to pick up a pack of Realistic 8-Track tapes these days, but you can find a wide variety of affordable blank 8-track cartridges on eBay.
