DEARMOND M-65 ELECTRIC GUITARS

LATE 1990s DEARMOND M-65 ELECTRIC GUITARS WERE MARKETED AS AN ENTRY-LEVEL MODEL, BUT IS SURPRISINGLY WELL-DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED. THE M-65 HAS A MAPLE BODY AND MAHOGANY NECK WITH A SHARP GLOSSY BLACK FINISH, AND IT'S A GREAT HIGH-QUALITY GUITAR DISGUISED AS A BEGINNER MODEL. THE "CHEAP" HUMBUCKER PICKUPS HAVE A NICE, FAT SOUND. IT HAS AMAZING SUSTAIN, DESPITE THE BOLT ON NECK AND THE FRETBOARD OFFERS WAY EASY PLAYABILITY. IT WAS MADE IN INDONESIA AND SHOWS GREAT QUALITY IN CRAFTSMANSHIP. AN AFFORDABLE GUITAR THAT PLAYS AND SOUNDS LIKE YOU PAID AT LEAST A COUPLE HUNDRED MORE FOR IT. IT'S EQUALLY PERFECT FOR BLUES OR STONER ROCK, JAZZ OR HARDCORE PUNK, AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S MEANT FOR BUSINESS. THIS ONE WAS PURCHASED ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO, PLAYED FOR ABOUT A WEEK, THEN STORED AWAY. IT'S STILL IN COLLECTOR-QUALITY CONDITION. IT HAS ONE 4 INCH LONG PALE SCUFF MARK NEAR THE UPPER EDGE OF THE BODY (IT IS NOT SCRATCHED INTO THE FINISH, SO IT MAY BE BUFFED OUT). OTHER THAN SOME TINY SUPERFICIAL SCRATCHES, IT HAS NO OTHER FLAWS: NO CHIPPED PAINT, NO CORROSION, NO WARPED NECK OR SCREWY ACTION, NO ELECTRICAL OR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE OF ANY KIND. IT EVEN HAS THE ORIGINAL PROTECTIVE PLASTIC ADHESIVE COATINGS ON THE KNOBS AND BACK PLATE THAT YOU GET TO REMOVE YOURSELF. FOR SOME REASON, DE ARMOND HASN'T PRODUCED THE M-65 IN YEARS, SO THEY ARE HARD TO COME BY IN NEARLY NEW CONDITION. INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING IS A BLACK SOFTCOVER KACES GIG BAG THAT FITS THE M-65 PERFECTLY. ENTIRE LENGTH OF GUITAR IS 39 5/8 INCHES. NECK MEASURES 18 1/8 INCHES FROM NUT TO END. BODY MEASURES 13 5/8 INCHES X 17 INCHES AT WIDEST POINTS.

CASIOTONE MT-40 VINTAGE CASIO ELECTRONIC KEYBOARD

casiotone mt-40

THIS VINTAGE CASIO CASIOTONE MT-40 ELECTRONIC KEYBOARD HAS 22 DIFFERENT RETRO VOICES INCLUDING SYNTH FUZZ AND FUNNY FUZZ. ALSO INCLUDES SIX DIFFERENT BEATS AND ACCOMPANIMENTS, AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF NEAT DRUM FILL-INS. THE "ROCK" BEAT ACCOMPANIMENT IS BASED ON EDDIE COCHRAN'S "MAN, THAT'S SOMETHING ELSE" AND WAS ADOPTED BY EARLY JAMAICAN DANCEHALL REGGAE ARTISTS IN THE '80s. THE BEAT BECAME KNOWN AS THE "SLENG TENG RIDDIM" AND WAS A BUILDING BLOCK OF MODERN DIGITAL REGGAE WITH ABOUT 200 MINOR VARIATIONS OF THIS BASIC BEAT. A GREAT INSTRUMENT FOR STUDIO RECORDING THAT GIVES DELIVERS THE CLASSIC VINTAGE CASIO SOUND, AND FOR MUSICAL MAD SCIENTISTS: IT'S A PRIME CANDIDATE FOR CIRCUIT BENDING THANKS TO THE RELATIVELY SIMPLE CIRCUITRY INSIDE. THERE IS A FINE TUNER KNOB ON THE BACK TO HELP YOU TUNE IT WITH YOUR EXISTING INSTRUMENTS. THIS CASIOTONE WAS WELL-USED AND IS MISSING FIVE OF THE SLIDER BUTTONS (THEY STILL WORK FINE WITHOUT THEM). THE VOLUME KNOB PROBABLY NEEDS TO BE CLEANED WITH CONTACT SPRAY / POT CLEANER BECAUSE IT ONLY WORKS CONSISTENTLY AT FULL VOLUME (THERE IS NO DISTORTION, FUZZ OR OTHER SOUND FLAWS WHEN PLAYED AT FULL VOLUME). FINALLY, IT WORKS ONLY ON AC POWER RIGHT NOW (THE CULPRIT APPEARS TO BE A RUSTY BATTERY COIL INSIDE (SEE LAST PHOTO). THE WIRING LOOKS GOOD, SO IT LOOKS LIKE IT CAN BE REPAIRED, BUT YOU'LL NEED TO GET IN THERE AND SAND/FILE THE CORROSION OFF OF THAT COIL. DESPITE THE FLAWS, ALL KEYS, BASS KEYS AND SETTINGS ARE WORKING FINE, AND IT WOULD BE A GREAT INSTRUMENT FOR HOME OR STUDIO RECORDING (THERE IS NO MIDI OUTPUT, BUT THERE IS A 1/4 INCH HEADPHONE JACK AND RCA OUTPUT). IT MEASURES 22 7/8 INCHES X 7 INCHES X 2 3/8 INCHES.

Yamaha Keytar SHS-10

The SHS-10 Yamaha Keytar

This original Yamaha SHS-10 keytar electronic keyboard is absolutely jam-packed with retro 1980s new wave style, and it has the sounds to match. The SHS-10 Yamaha Keytar has 25 voices and 25 accompaniment / rhythm styles and a fully functional polyphonic keyboard. It has cool push-button effects, a whammy / note bender on the neck, programmable chord sequencer, and it's equipped with a midi output and 1/4 inch headphones output, making this keyboard ready for home/studio recording or live performances! Whew! There are probably a few more features hidden in this hard-to-find '80s survivor, too. The SHS-10 Yamaha Keytar is powered by 6 "AA" batteries or plug in a universal adaptor for AC power. This Yamaha SHS-10 was lightly used, but super-clean, and it showed only very minor wear. We sold it at auction with a groovy rainbow guitar strap and a copy of the instruction manual on a cd-rom (the manual is easy to find for free download on the internet). A ridiculous bidding war ensued, and it eventually sold to a high-level electro-freak in Canada. Are you looking for an SHS-10 to buy? You can see some fine, hand-selected Yamaha Keytars for sale below!
