Vintage Portable Television sets have great style and functionality. Though analog TV signals are no longer used in the U.S., virtually all vintage portable television sets have some means of connecting a cable line, satellite or DVD/VCR/Game Console. Not only are they useful decorative pieces, but cable and satellite installers swear by these "outdated" devices as on-the-job display monitors! THIS AMAZING SPACE AGE WHITE 12 INCH VINTAGE PANASONIC BLACK & WHITE TV IS STILL IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION FOR IT'S AGE. THIS 1977 MODEL TR-822 WAS BARELY USED AND IS COMPLETE WITH UNBROKEN ANTENNA AND THE ORIGINAL ACRYLIC PROTECTIVE SCREEN COVER, WHICH ARE USUALLY HEAVILY SCRATCHED, CRACKED OR MISSING (WHICH MEANS THEY MUST HAVE DONE THEIR JOB!). THERE IS THE FAINTEST YELLOWING PATCH ON TOP OF THE UNIT, BUT IT IS BARELY NOTICEABLE AND PROBABLY REVERSIBLE WITH THE RIGHT CLEANING TECHNIQUE. THE TELEVISION AND ALL CONTROLS ARE IN CORRECT OPERATING ORDER AND THE PICTURE AND SOUND ARE SURPRISINGLY CLEAR. THE ANTENNA WAS NOT TESTED, AS ANALOG BROADCASTING IS NOW A THING OF THE PAST IN THE U.S. IT ONLY HAS THE OLD FASHIONED SCREW POST TERMINALS ON THE BACK, SO YOU WILL NEED TO SPEND A FEW DOLLARS AT THE LOCAL ELECTRONICS STORE TO CONNECT A COAXIAL CABLE. IT HAS A RETRO FUTURISTIC SPACE ODYSSEY STYLE, ESPECIALLY WITH THE SLEEK SCREEN COVER. IT IS VERY CLEAN WITH BRIGHT SHINY KNOBS AND READY TO USE OUT OF THE BOX. THE ENTIRE UNIT MEASURES 16.25 INCHES x 11.75 INCHES x 11.25 INCHES
THIS VINTAGE SONY TV-790 PORTABLE BLACK & WHITE TELEVISION HAS COOL RETRO SPACE AGE STYLE! IT HAS AN OFF-WHITE BEIGE SHELL WITH CHROME AND BRUSHED ALUMINUM ACCENTS. THE TV IS IN WORKING CONDITION AND THE 7 INCH B&W SCREEN HAS NO DAMAGE. WE CANNOT TEST THE PICTURE CLARITY BECAUSE THE TV-790 APPEARS TO HAVE NO AUX INPUT AND THERE ARE NO MORE ANALOG TV SIGNALS THE ANTENNA CAN RECEIVE. THERE IS AN EXT. ANTENNA INPUT THAT LOOKS LIKE A HEADPHONE JACK, SO MAYBE THAT'S HOW (WITH THE HELP OF AN ADAPTER) TO HOOK UP AN EXTERNAL GAMING DEVICE OR DVD PLAYER. THE ENTIRE UNIT MEASURES ONLY 11 INCHES X 8.25 INCHES X 7.75 INCHES. THERE ARE A FEW VERY MINOR SCUFFS AND SCRATCHES, BUT NOTHING SERIOUS. RUNS ON AC POWER (ORIGINAL CORD IS INCLUDED) OR RUNS ON OPTIONAL RECHARGABLE POWER (THE RECHARGABLE BATTERIES ARE NOT INCLUDED). A STYLISH ELECTRONIC ACCENT, LOOKS GREAT JUST SITTING AROUND ON A SIDE TABLE OR SHELF.
This mod orange vintage Panasonic TR-822 Black & White television with 12 inch screen has unmistakable retro style and makes a defining statement when introduced into your current home decor. This Pumpkin Orange television was fittingly manufactured in the month of October, 1977. With classic retro space age style, it makes a fun display piece in working condition. It was well-used and shows a fair amount of scuffs, scratches and wear from everyday use. It still works pretty well, though the picture seems to have a slight vibration to it (I think the vertical hold knob on the back needs a good spray of contact cleaner so a finer adjustment can be made). The TV is still pretty clean and shiny and brings back fond memories every time you switch the power / volume knob on. Not only does it have classic looks, it also has two classic flaws, including a small melted spot on the top edge that was made by a lit cigarette, as well as a broken analog antenna (which can easily be replaced, but is of no practical use anyway as it does not receive digital signals). It measures 16.25 inches x 11.75 inches x 11.25 inches.
THIS VINTAGE GENERAL ELECTRIC BLACK & WHITE TELEVISION HAS A WHITE SHELL AND RETRO SPACE AGE STYLE. SMALL AND LIGHTWEIGHT, THE GE PERFORMANCE TV MODEL 12XB9104V HAS AN 11.5 INCH SCREEN AND MEASURES 15 INCHES X 12.5 INCHES X 11.75 INCHES. IT WAS WELL-USED AND SHOWS MODERATE WEAR AND TEAR, SCUFFS AND SCRATCHES, AND A SPOTTY ALUMINUM FACEPLATE. THE ANTENNA END WAS BROKEN OFF AND THE REST OF THE TELESCOPING PART IS STUCK INSIDE. FINALLY, THE VOLUME KNOB NEEDS TO BE LUBRICATED WITH POT/SWITCH CLEANER BECAUSE IT IS EXTREMELY SCRATCHY-SOUNDING AND THE AUDIO ACTUALLY COMES IN AND OUT SPORADICALLY. DESPITE IT'S RUGGED APPEARANCE, THE TV IS ACTUALLY VERY CLEAN WITH NO CRACKS AND THE MONITOR VISUAL QUALITY IS AS GOOD AS IT EVER WAS (THE SCREENSHOT EXAMPLE LOOKS BLUISH IN THE PHOTO, BUT IT'S TRUE BLACK & WHITE). ALL OTHER CONTROLS WORK CORRECTLY, INCLUDING BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, HORIZONTAL & VERTICAL HOLD, AND HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT. THE CHANNEL KNOBS ARE CLEAN AND WORK PERFECTLY. IT ACCEPTS A COAXIAL INPUT, BUT YOU WILL NEED A SIMPLE 300-75 OHM ADAPTOR AS THE BACK OF THE TV IS EQUIPPED ONLY WITH THE OLD-FASHIONED SCREWS (A FEW DOLLARS AT THE RADIO SHACK). IT MAKES A FUNKY AND STYLISH MONITOR SCREEN FOR SECURITY OR NOVELTY PURPOSES AND IS GREAT FOR PLAYING PONG.
THIS HEAVY DUTY VINTAGE SONY KV-5000 TRINITRON PORTABLE TV ORIGINALLY CAME FROM PLEASANTVILLE LABS, AN AUDIO VIDEO TEST LAB IN BALTIMORE, AND IT HAS A COUPLE OF INTERESTING MODIFICATIONS, NAMELY A BUILT-IN RF MODULATOR THAT TOGGLES THE UHF/VHF AND CABLE INPUT SIGNAL WITH A LITTLE METAL SWITCH ON THE BACK. THE AC POWER CORD (WHICH WAS ORIGINALLY REMOVABLE) HAS ALSO BEEN PERMANENTLY WIRED IN. THE BODY AND PROTECTIVE CLEAR FACEPLATE SHOWS SOME OBVIOUS WEAR AND TEAR (AS IT WAS USED IN A LABORATORY SETTING), BUT IT IS CLEAN AND WORKS AND HAS NO SERIOUS DAMAGE, CRACKS OR OTHER STRUCTURAL FLAWS. THE MONITOR IS A 5 INCH COLOR SCREEN AND IS PERFECT WITH NO SCRATCHES OR FLAWS. BACK OF THE UNIT HAS KNOBS FOR HORIZONTAL HOLD, VERTICAL HOLD AND DEGAUSS AND FLAT-HEAD SCREW ADJUSTERS TO FINE-TUNE SCREEN CENTERING AND RED, BLUE AND GREEN COLORS. INCLUDES ORIGINAL COAXIAL CABLE THAT HAS A STANDARD TIP ON ONE END AND A SPECIAL TIP THAT FITS THE MODIFIED CABLE INPUT ON THE BACK OF THE TV. ENTIRE TV MEASURES 11 INCHES X 9 INCHES X 6.5 INCHES. THE SONY KV-5000: "THE NEW COLOR PORTABLE THAT WON'T GIVE YOU A HERNIA" (ACTUAL SLOGAN FROM THE SONY AD CAMPAIGN!).
