This Harman Kardon 330A vintage stereo receiver was manufactured from 1972 to around 1974. Their version of the “entry-level” hi-fi receiver, the Harman Kardon 330A sold for $159.99 back in ’73. It is rated at 45 watts RMS, or roughly 20 watts-per-channel.
The Harman Kardon 330A has a very pleasing modern, minimalist design, and the company still focuses on producing stylish-looking high-end electronics to this day. The guts of this device were manufactured by Rotel / Roland Electronics, and the Rotel RX-400A receiver is internally identical to this unit.
The Harman Kardon 330A has an opaque black face and silver aluminum plate & knobs. The dial and signal strength meter are backlit and produce a bold bright green color when powered on.
It is equipped with all the standard features of a 1970s vintage stereo receiver, including AM/FM tuner, dedicated phono input and aux input for cassette decks, reel-to-reel tape recorders, etc.
